13th Lelu Town Council Concludes First Regular Session

scheduled to be held in Kosrae for this summer. The Closing Day Order reflected the breadth of the Council’s work, which included 1 Mayor’s Message, 2 miscellaneous communications, 7 Council resolutions, 5 Council bills, 3 Committee of the Whole reports, and 1 Standing Committee report. Over the course of the ten‑day session, the Council introduced a total of 20 bills. Of these, 1 was filed, 2 were tabled, 7 were enacted into law, and the remainder are currently under review by the Mayor. In addition, 99 resolutions were introduced and approved, underscoring the Council’s commitment to governance and community development.With the Closing Day completed, the 13th Lelu Town Council now enters recess. The session demonstrated diligence and collaboration among its members, laying a strong foundation for the year’s legislative agenda and ensuring that key issues of governance, finance, and community engagement remain at the forefront

April 6, 2026, Lelu Municipal Office - The 13th Lelu Town Council brought its First Regular Session to a close with a formal Closing Day presided over by Chairman Osamu Nedlic. The day began with an opening prayer offered by Rev. Peter Noda, setting a respectful tone for the proceedings. Present were Floor Leader Rensley Thomson, J&GO Chairman Marston Luckymis, W&M Chairman Quartus Esau, HESA Chairman Esau Tilfas, and R&D Chairman Tulensa Skilling. Vice Chairman Billy Palik was absent due to medical referral in the Philippines, and the Council expressed its hopes for his quick recovery.

Following the prayer, a Wait Committee was dispatched to meet with Mayor Hon. Atchuo Welly. The committee was led by Chairmen Quartus Esau, Marston Luckymis, and Tulensa Skilling. Their discussions with the Mayor touched on several important issues, including business licensing, the 2027 budget, congressional subsidy, Expo 2026, and the proposed Alcoballics & Five‑0 Tournament

Bobby Andrew Jr. Sworn In as Deputy Sheriff for Lelu Town Government

Lelu, Kosrae — In a formal ceremony held at the Lelu Town Hall, Bobby Andrew Jr. was officially sworn in as Deputy Sheriff for the Lelu Town Government. The oath of office was administered by Justice Edmond Salik, marking a significant moment for both Andrew and the community of Lelu.

The event, attended by his proud parents, Mr. Bobby Andrew and Merides Bobby Andrew, local officials and community members, underscored the importance of law enforcement in maintaining peace and order within the municipality. As Deputy Sheriff, Andrew will be tasked with supporting public safety initiatives, enforcing local ordinances, and assisting in community policing efforts.

Justice Salik emphasized the solemn responsibility of the role, noting that the position requires integrity, dedication, and a commitment to upholding the law. Andrew’s appointment reflects the town’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its governance and ensure the well-being of residents.
