Pansre - Encompassing the upland areas extending toward Tofol and Malem Village. The name Pansre beautifully reflects the union of land and water in Kosrae’s natural environment. It is formed by combining Panne, the Micronesian Ginger Flower, and Sresre, the shrimp that thrives in rivers and streams. The ginger flower, with its pure white petals and gentle fragrance, symbolizes growth, beauty, and the vitality of the land, while the shrimp represents resilience, adaptability, and the life sustained by flowing freshwater ecosystems. Together, these elements create Pansre, a name that embodies the balance between terrestrial and aquatic life, reminding the community that every flower, stream, and creature contributes to the harmony and sustainability of Lelu’s environment. 1.
